War Eagle Watch

After completing a competitive regular season, the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Region 4-AAAA Championships at Nash Farm Battlefield. 

Hannah Ackerman, who finished second, and Jack Dempsey, who finished fourth, led their respective teams to second-place finishes. Along with both teams’ strong finishes, several runners earned individual honors. For the girls, Hannah Ackerman, Brooklyn Carr, and Casey Cullen earned first team All-Region honors, while Meryl Inman and Wallace Putt earned second team All-Region honors. Among the boys, Jack Dempsey, Thomas Freer, and Drake Oakhill garnered first team All-Region honors, with Justin Frediani and Will Reese being named second team All-Region.  Both teams advanced to the AAAA State Championships in Carrollton, Georgia, where the girls finished 10th overall and the boys 13th. With a strong core of runners returning next season, both War Eagle squads should once again compete for region and state titles.
