It was an excellent 2017 season for the boys track and field team, which won its second consecutive Region Championship.
Individually, Alphonzo Overstreet (400), Brennan Silliman (1600 and 3200), Max White (pole vault), Josh McCullough (shot put), and Josh Armstrong (discus) all won in their respective events at the region championship and qualified for the state meet. At the state meet, White (3rd in pole vault), Overstreet (4th in 400 ), Silliman (6th in 3200), Sultan Simms (7th in high jump), and Josh Armstrong (8th in discus) all scored for the team. It was an exciting year, and will provide a strong foundation for Woodward’s pursuit of its third consecutive Region Championship next year.
