War Eagle Watch

The boys and girls varsity swim teams had a fantastic 2019-2020 season.

This season, the boys team finished with a 6-2 record, and the girls team finished with a 5-3 record. At the GHSA 4A-5A State Swim and Dive Meet, the War Eagles had 14 top-25 finishes across both teams, with the boys team finishing sixth overall. Henry Nichols finished 1st in the 50 Free at the state meet and broke the school 50 Free record, which had been held since 1974. The boys 200 Free Relay, consisting of Aaron Su, Henry Nichols, Brandon Veale, and Trevor Muirhead, placed third overall, and the boys 400 Free Relay, consisting of Henry Nichols, Ryan Cook, Josh Armour, and Trevor Muirhead, also finished third overall. Christian Houston placed 13th overall in the diving portion of the state meet.

We’ve been so impressed by the determination, commitment, and kindness the entire team has exhibited in their first year working together as a combined boys and girls program. We are very proud of the varsity swim and dive team this year. Go War Eagles!
