woodward academy girls varsity soccer

For the second year in a row, the varsity girls soccer team was undefeated in their region and named region champions.

They went on to make it into the elite eight of the GHSA state playoffs and finished with an overall record of 10-11-0. The team had four players named to the All-Region 1st Team (Maddy Cronin, Megan Garrison, Brooke Sard, and Hayden Twiss), and two players named to the All-Region 2nd team (Jenna Codner and Sierra Bagwell). This year’s squad also embodied the spirit of true scholar-athletes, with 23 girls (out of 25) making the school’s honor roll. This year’s seven seniors especially demonstrated success on and off the field; collectively, they boast an average GPA of 4.32 and consist of dual athletes, peer leaders, senior superlative winners, and the valedictorian. Three of the seniors are vintage eagles and they have spent a combined 65 years at Woodward. They have set the bar high for the talented players behind them, who are sure to spark a bright future for the program.
