Boys Golf Watch

The Woodward Academy boys golf team finished the 2017 season 3rd overall at the AAAA State Championships. The War Eagles finished day one of the scheduled two-day tournament just one shot out of 2nd place, and looked poised to make a run, but rain forced the cancellation of day two.

Junior Mitchell Kahlert led the War Eagles at the state tournament with a 2-under par 69, placing him 4th overall in the individual standings.  In addition to their 3rd place finish at state, the War Eagles placed 2nd in the Area Championships while also capturing tournament titles at the Packer Tournament and Lion Tournament this season. Seniors George Stradtman and Joe Hewes helped lead the team during the year, and they’ll be missed, but with 5 underclassmen returning, the boys team looks strong again for 2018.
