The girls cross country team had successful season this fall, finishing their season in Carrollton at the AAAA State Championships.

The girls team, led by Brooklyn Carr and Cece Ng, finished 8th in the 32-team field at the State Championships, marking the 12th consecutive top-10 finish at the State Championships for the Lady War Eagles. The girls squad also finished the region meet as region 4-AAAA runner-up.  Brooklyn Carr, Cece Ng, and Katie Dorton were named to the 1st team All-Region team, while Anne Lee, Clara Wheelock, Abbey Miller, and Sophie Sidman were honored with 2nd team All-Region recognition.

Since 2001, Coach Hamling’s teams have won 8 combined cross country region championships, 2 cross country state runner-up finishes and 2 individual state champions. In track and field Coach Hamling’s programs have combined for 13 region championships, 1 state championship (2014), 1 state runner-up and 11 individual state champions. Coach Hamling coached girls basketball at Woodward Academy from 1995-2001. The team won the state championships in 1996 and 1999.
