Woodward Academy Boys Varsity Soccer Watch

Woodward Academy’s boys soccer team played one of the toughest regular season schedules in the state this season.

The War Eagles finished the regular season with a 12-6 overall record, with five of those losses coming at the hands of top-10 ranked programs. With a strong performance against Druid Hills late in the season, the War Eagles were able to capture the Region 4-AAAA Championship and advance to the state playoffs. Woodward Academy defeated Northside, Columbus, and Perry High Schools in the first two rounds by a combined 15-0 score. Unfortunately, in the state quarterfinals, Woodward was eliminated by the eventual AAAA state champions, Oconee County High School.  Forward Tej Munshi, midfielders Arik Duncan and Nick Mair, and defenders T.J. Borchers and Hans Meyer were all named 1st Team All-Region. Forward Jordan Culley and midfielder Alex Taylor earned 2nd Team All-Region honors. With a rich history of success in the boys program, the War Eagles are looking forward to next season and another shot at capturing the state championship.
