
The boys lacrosse team finished the 2019 regular season with a 10-7 overall record.
The War Eagles captured the A-AAAAA Area 7 championship for the second consecutive season, which qualified the War Eagles for the state playoffs. The team defeated Fayette County High School in round one and Mt. Pigsah in round two before falling to Buford High School in the state quarterfinals. Junior attack Eric Malever was named 1st Team All South Metro and Co-Player of the Year, along with being named 1st Team All-State and a US Lacrosse All-American. Asa Jones and Cole Monette were also named 1st Team All South Metro, while Jack Dunn and Stewart James earned 2nd Team All South Metro honors. James Mayfield earned All South Metro honorable mention and the entire coaching staff received the All South Metro Staff of the Year award. With a large portion of this year’s squad returning in 2019-20, the War Eagles are looking forward to another run at the state title.
