Woodward Academy boys golf team performed their best when they needed it most this season.
The War Eagles started the season shooting a team score of 320, with their sights on working their way down to 300. In the GHSA AAAA State Championships at the Columbus Country Club, the War Eagles did just that, shooting 299 on day one and 300 on day two. Their 2-day team score of 599 placed the War Eagles 5th overall. Freshman Aren Patel was low scorer for the War Eagles, shooting 72 and 68 for a 2-day total of 140, placing him 3rd overall in the individual standings. Others competing for the War Eagles were Nick Eller, Andy Olson, Griffin Williams, and Wyatt Seilkop. The boys placed 2nd at the Area Championships as well as 1st at the Snowball Invitational. With just one senior departing, Woodward fans should be excited about what the future holds for the boys golf team.
