The War Eagles were led by 1st team All-Region selection Julian Cameron, All-Region honorable mention selection Brennan McDaniel, and 2016 All-Region point guard Hunter Falconer. The three seniors were joined by Grant Sullivan and Ben Wilkinson to form a strong group of leaders for the young War Eagles.
Woodward finished with 14 wins on the season, including a runner-up finish at the Westminster Christian Holiday Classic in Miami, Florida and wins over state-ranked Henry County High School, Salem High School, and North Clayton High School.
The War Eagles benefited from the energy of some fresh faces as the War Eagles dressed 5 freshmen and sophomores during the 2016-2017 campaign. The War Eagles finished the season as the No. 3 seed in the region tournament only to be upset by a surging Druid Hills team.
Despite the frustration of an early end to the season, the War Eagles are grateful for the contribution of their seniors and look forward to a very bright future!
