Woodward Academy’s competition cheer squad finished as Region 4-AAAA runner-up this year, qualifying the Lady War Eagles for the AAAA State Sectionals.

Led by seniors Alexia Cainion, Camryn Graham, Kira Green, and AnaSimone Guillaume, the team turned in one of their best performances of the year at State Sectionals. Hoping their outstanding sectional routine would prove to be enough, the team just missed advancing to the State Finals by one place. In addition to a strong sectional routine, the Lady War Eagles also captured first place at the Buford Competition held in early October. With a large portion of this year’s roster set to return next year, the team will look to advance to the State Finals in 2019.
